4. (ii) < (iv) < (iii) < (i)

Hint: Density is directly proportional to the molar mass of the compound.

Density is pertaining to the molecular mass of substrate. As we increase the molecular mass, the density of the compound will

also, increase. In the given four compounds, the increasing order of molecular mass will be as follows:-

benzene < chlorobenzene < dichlorobenzene < bromochlorobenzene

Hence, option (a) is correct.
