NEET 2020 - Syllabus, Exam date, Eligibility, Application Form, Registration and Cutoff 

National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the NEET 2020 Exam for MBBS entrance (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) and this will be used for admission in MBBS and BDS colleges in India along with Ayush Courses. Since NTA came into picture, many things have changed in NEET 2020 such as mode of exam, its frequency. However, for those who are in class 11 or 12, their focus should be Exam Preparation.

Every year lot of students prepare to turn their dream into reality and all they need is accurate NEET syllabus to prepare. NEET Syllabus is divided into four subjects - Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Students need to complete all the 97 chapters of NEET Syllabus in order to score a good rank in NEET Exam.


NEET Eligibility

Aspirants of NEET seeking admission at undergraduate level are advised to check the eligibility criteria of NEET. The prerequisites given here are in accordance with those specified by NTA based on the Regulations on Graduate Medical Education. NEET eligibility criteria  will specify the age limit, academic qualifications, nationality and other mandatory requirements which must be met by all the aspirants.

Other Eligibilities -

  1. NRI candidates can apply by using Adhaar Card number or Passport Number.
  2. PIO, OCI & Foreign nationals candidates can apply by Passport Number.
  3. Age Limit of candidates:
    Minimum– The minimum age limit is 17 years on 31st December, 2020
    Maximum – There is no maximum age limit for NEET Exam as per the judgement of Supreme Court. 
  4. There is no maximum attempt limit for writing the NEET Exam.
  5. Students must have passed/appearing 12thor equivalent examination from any recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology or any other elective subject with English.
  6. Students of 12th level must have Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology with English as a mandatory subject.
  7. Candidates in the 12th level must have secured minimum 50% marks for General categories, 50% marks for EWS, 45% marks for PH & 40% marks for SC/ST category candidates in PCB group.
  8. Candidates, who are appearing in their qualifying exam or waiting for their result are also eligible for NEET (UG).

NEET 2020 Exam Date

The NEET 2020 Exam will be on 3rd of May 2020. NTA released the exact dates. Given Below is the list of Important Dates for NEET 2020 Exam.

NEET 2020 Application Form

The filling of application form is done in a two-step process, which begins with the candidate registration. Furthermore, a candidate is advised to register with the correct mobile number and email address. After the successful registration, the login credentials of candidate will be communicated to the candidate via email and a message. It must be used to login and proceed to fill the application form and fill in the details for the said amount.

NEET Admit Card

The admit card of NEET contains details like Name of the candidate, Address, DOB, centre etc. if candidates forget to bring Hall ticket with themselves in their respective centres on the date of exam then Candidates will not be allowed to write the Exam.

It is expected that National Testing Agency (NTA) will be made available through online mode. Admit card will contain the exam schedule, Exam centre Details, Candidate’s Roll number etc.The Board will also send a copy of Admit Card in PDF Format to the candidates through registered email id. The exam pattern of NEET 2020 will be Pen and Paper based as confirmed by NTA. Candidates are requested to note that if there are any changes then they will be announced by NTA in November/December 2019. We will also update details here then.

NEET 2020 Result

A candidate must enter their roll number and other required details in order to check their Result.

NEET Result 2020 will also be displayed on the notice board of concerned faculty/centre/college or controller’s Website.

Students who will appear in the exam will be able to check NEET 2020 Result through online mode. The result will be declared by 4th of June 2020. No candidate will receive the result through offline mode. Candidates are advised to take the print out of their result for further use. No category wise result sheet will be prepared.

NEET 2020 Cutoff (expected)

Looking back at the previous trends,the NEET Cutoff depends on various factors like number of candidates appearing in the NEET Exam 2020, Performance of candidates and also the difficulty level of the Exam.

Candidates will have to score more than the NEET 2020 Cut-Off marks to qualify the examination. The Cut-off will depend upon various factors like no. of candidates appearing in exam, difficulty level of exam, students’ performance, etc.

Looking back at previous trends, the minimum cut-off percentile to qualify the exam is 50% for general category & 45% for PH category and 40% for other reserved categories. After releasing the cut-off, authority will also release a cut-off under 15% of All India Quota seats for different categories.

In order to secure the best college,Candidates have to secure marks more than the cutoff to qualify the NEET Examination.

NEET Counselling 2020

NEET 2020 Counselling will commence from the month of June, 2020.

The counselling will be conducted through online mode and all the qualified candidates will be called for the process of NEET counselling. It is necessary for each candidate to register separately for the NEET Counselling. After the declaration of NEET Result 2020, MCC and various state counselling authorities will conduct counselling in order to provide admissions to candidates under 15% All India Quota seats in government medical and dental colleges across India and rest of the 85% seats will be filled through state counselling (except for UT of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh).

It will be a two-round process and if the candidates is not able to secure seat in the first round or if they got the allotment and still want to participate in second round, they can change their preferences and get the allotment in second round of NEET Counselling 2020.

Students are required to register first for counselling and then fill their choice of preferences. After that, seats will be allotted to the candidates as per the reservation policy, availability of seats, etc.
