NEET Jammu & Kashmir State Quota 2021: Seats, participating Colleges, Cutoff, Counseling, and Merit List

The admission process of J&K will be conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE).

What is seat Intake?

Seat Intake or Matrix is the number of seats available for aspirants in various Private and Government Medical and Dental Colleges of the state.

CBSE has decided to reduce the syllabus from Class IX to XII and this could also have an impact on the syllabus of NEET 2021. However, for those who are in class 11 or 12, their focus should be Exam Preparation. NEET syllabus is divided into four subjects - PhysicsChemistryBotany and Zoology. Students need to complete all the 97 chapters of the NEET Syllabus in order to score a good rank in NEET Exam. Aspirants of NEET seeking admission at the undergraduate level are advised to check the eligibility criteria of NEET.

Counseling and Admission Process of Jammu and Kashmir :

Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE), will be conducting the counseling process.

The conducting body will start the Jammu and Kashmir MBBS admission process with the release of an eligible list of candidates. The list will contain the name of those candidates who have submitted Jammu and Kashmir as their state of eligibility for counseling.

The counseling session for Jammu and Kashmir MBBS admission will be conducted in online mode while the mop-up round will be held in offline mode. The online mode of counseling implies candidates will be required to submit web options and in case of offline counseling, candidates must report to the allotted center. Since the admission will be taken on the basis of merit-cum-preference.

So now Let’s take a quick view of the whole process of counseling:

Registration: During the registration for MBBS and BDS counseling, candidates will be required to enter their preferences of colleges as well as courses, in which they wish to get admission. The applicants are required to register online on the official portal. Fill all the details asked in the application form.

Choosing and locking: The candidates will be required to log in to the online portal using the same login credentials which were earlier used to fill J & K MBBS application form. After login, Candidates can choose the course as well as college of their preference and then lock-in the chosen preferences in the online portal. They can enter as many preferences as they want.

Candidates are required to fill up at least one preference for a discipline/college while filling up the preferred form of J & K counseling, failing which they will not be allowed to participate in the further admission process.

Seat Allotment: The seat allotment is the result of J & K MBBS counseling. The seat allotment for J & K admission will reflect the seats allotted to the candidates. The candidates included in the seat allotment list will be required to report to the allotted institute. The regulatory body will release the list of documents that need to be verified for J & K admission. The fees of Jammu and Kashmir MBBS/BDS admission will also be submitted at the allotted college.

Report to Allotted College: The candidates who are allotted a seat will be required to report at the assigned college with the required documents, a demand draft of the prescribed fee amount, and two copies of the registration form for submission of the necessary documents.

After the final allotment, candidates can pay the fee and download the admission ticket from the concerned website. Candidates must carry the allotment letter along with other required documents while reporting to the allotted college.

Documents Required for Admission :

Candidates are required to bring the following valid original documents along with one set of attested copies at the time of counseling without which his/her candidature will not be considered:-

i) High School Certificate and Marksheet.

ii) Intermediate Mark sheet and Certificate.

iii) Two passport size photographs as pasted in the NEET application form.

iv) Domicile /S.C. /S.T/O.B.C. Certificate, if applicable.

v) Subcategory certificate, if applicable.

vi) NEET Admit Card

vii) NEET Scorecard.

viii) Aadhar Card.

ix) Date of Birth Certificate.

x) Children of Defence Personnel Certificate, Certificate for Children of Permanent Residents of Paramilitary Forces and State Police Personnel serving in Jammu and Kashmir, if applicable.

xi) Candidates possessing outstanding proficiency in Sports issued by Secretary, J & K Sports Council must submit a Sports category certificate.
